NOTE: CLINICAL experience is defined as DIRECT care to individuals with MH and/or ID. Some examples of clinical experience may be working at a CSB, psychiatric hosptial and/or outpatient facility, providing intensive in-home or mental health support services, or providing MH/ID services in a licensed group home. Working at a summer camp, YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, school teacher, etc, is NOT clinical experience.
*Mental Health Support Providers
--Provides support and skills-training to enable individuals with functional limitations due to emotional and/or behavioral problems to achieve and maintain community stability and independence.
Qualifications:
1) Associates degree or higher in a Human Services Field with AT LEAST One year experience providing direct clinical services (see above).
2) Associates degree or higher in an unrelated field with AT LEAST Three years experience providing direct clinical services (see above).
All employees must submit a copy of Official Academic Transcripts AND verifiable clinical employment history.
Pre-employment drug screening and background checks are required.
Experienced working with individuals with both mental health and intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred.
*Human services field includes social work, gerontology, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, special education, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, and human services counseling. A degree in criminal justice is NOTconsidered human services for the above position; however, 15 semester hours (or equivalent) in human services and 3 years clinical experience working directly with individuals with mental illness or intellectual disabilities will satisfy criteria for QMHP for those with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
